Annual Membership Meeting and Legal Professionals' Conference

For this event LABAS partnered with the Center for Public Affairs at Elon University in North Carolina, and the Lithuanian Lawyers Association (Lietuvos teisininku draugija, or LTD), to present a legal professionals' conference entitled "Lithuania's Legal System: Trends and Perspectives." We learned in detail from Lithuanians their perspective on Lithuania's progress on the rule of law. 

2005. The 2005 Annual Membership Meeting was held on Saturday, May 7, 2005, at the beautiful lake home of co-founders Regina and Bernard Narusis in Cary, Illinois, near Chicago.  We enjoyed a hearty Lithuanian style lunch and discussion on Lithuanian and International politics, history, and the future of our organization

2004. The 2004 Annual Membership Meeting was hosted by Saulius Kuprys' law firm, HENEHAN DONOVAN & ISAACSON, LTD, 150 South Wacker Drive, Chicago, Illinois, and was followed by an informal lunch. Illinois attorney Tony Mankus was elected to the Board of Directors and agreed to serve as Vice-President. For a complete listing of the Board of Directors, see our Directors Page.

2003 Conference and Annual Meeting in Lithuania. The 2003 annual membership meeting was held in conjunction with our joint conference planned with the Law University of Lithuania in Vilnius for a week of meetings and cultural events in the week of June 23, 2003. The conference was entitled, "The Business Environment: What Can The Law Do?" and featured presentations by representatives of Lithuanian business and law as well as American law professors and LABAS members.

The program coincided with the 750^th anniversary of the Coronation of Mindaugas and Vilnius was busy with festivities. The Song Festival, originally scheduled for July 2002, was moved to July 2003 to take place with the Dance Festival and anniversary celebrations. The Conference was open to all attorneys, the business community, and any others who were interested.
