We are asking our members to review each of the eight entries linked below and rank the best three, in order of preference. Send your top three choices by email to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Voting is open until May 15, 2011. The winner will receive a cash prize of $750. The award will be announced on May 30, 2011.
Contestants were asked to submit a 1200-1500 word essay in English on the topic, 'Current Legal Challenges in Lithuania.' We asked them to consider, given that open society is based on the rule of law, what, if any, are the major obstacles to the rule of law in Lithuania today. Here is a link to the complete contest rules.
The purpose of the competition is to encourage legal scholarship by Lithuanian law students and young lawyers in order to foster a collegiate discussion of current legal issues affecting the rule of law in Lithuania. Essays of the winner and finalists will be published by the Lithuanian-American Bar Association, Inc. online or in a printed edition.
You must be a current member of LABAS to vote. You can renew your membership and pay your dues online at our Membership Page.
